Through coaching partnerships, students are empowered to improve aspects of college life that directly impact their college outcomes and satisfaction. Distinct from advising and tutoring, academic life coaching assists learners in developing the skills, behaviors, and habits that contribute to their overall success in college and beyond, as well as confronting difficulties or barriers to success. Coaching can support:

  • the creation of individualized time management and study systems

  • discovery of individual learning styles, motivations, and habits of working

  • decisions from major-to-career pathways

  • improved wellness and resiliency toward healthy and whole living in college

  • the development of support networks and utilization of campus resources

Academic life is more than grades alone. Academic life coaching has the potential to benefit all aspects of a student’s life toward achievement of their ultimate college goals.

Academic life is complex.

Coaching sessions are scheduled at 45 minutes in length and provided as a teleservice. After an introduction to the coaching model, the student works with their coach to set a meaningful agenda, establishing the desired focus and outcome of each session. Typically, students leave sessions with precise and actionable steps to follow the session. A typical cadence is to meet with the academic life coach every other week.

Coaching sessions with Leslie Vaughn are currently sold as 8- or 12-session packages. Single sessions can be added for clients upon completion of a session package. Please contact Leslie for pricing inquiries and to schedule a consultation.

Academic life coaching can run concurrently with other supports, such as counseling or therapy, and can benefit a wide range of learners. Neurodiversity is welcome!
